    I was just 24 yrs old when i was pressured into having my tubes tied. i was told by the Dr. that i was going to have clamps put on that was the original Dr. She then went out on maturnity leave and i was stuck with an insensative male Dr. who did what he wanted to do to me at the time of the delivery which was by C-section and he not only CUT, TIED AND BURNED my tubes and that means that i will NEVER be able to have another baby in my entire life even though i am about to be married and am 36 yrs old now and me and my husband to be would love to have ONE child, i already have 3 wonderful sons , they are now 15, 14, and 12 and i know that my husband to be wants a child even though he says that he very happy woth our family but i really would LOVE to be able to give him that ONE child

    I had my tubes tied last year at the birth of my 5th child. I was only 24 and completly pressured into doing something I regret every minute of every day. I want my tubes reversed but I have to lose some weight before I can go any further which is not easy when you are depressed. Good luck to everyone.     I am 38, had a tubal-reversal last March, married my husband in May and we conceived our daughter in November. She is a beautiful, happy & healthy 2 1/2 month old. She is also a Berger Baby.     I am going to be 37 in November, I had my son in Oct. 1990 He was diagnosed with a Wilms Tumor stage 4 in 1995, We were practicaly living, off and on, at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis In. I had a boyfriend at the time and was terrified of getting pregnant since the noraplant in my arm was ready to expire. I got my tubes burned that year. My son faught the Cancer for 3 years but then passed on 1998. I have regreted this decision since. I am now living a better life, Married to a man who never knew my child but knows of him. He wants desperately to have children and I know now that I have made the worst mistake of my life in so many different ways. We don’t have the money or the credit to get the reversal even though my husband is getting his B.S. degree it will still be a few years before we will be able to afford it or have our credit straightend out and by then I think it will be too late and I’ll be too old.
    I just wish I could go back in time and talk myself out of it. So stupid.

    I was told in order to qualify for free tubal ligation that it had to be permanent. Is there such a thing as permanent tubal ligation with no chance of reversal ? This was done in 2001 – I am now in my 40’s and want another baby. With no insurance, how costly at cheapest is it to get this surgery done?

    I had my tubes tied after my 5th child in 2005. I made the decision to have my tubal for the wrong reasons and i am TOTALY regreting it now! I have found my soul mate after 15 years of searching and we would love nothing more than to have a baby or maybe two together.     I have been marriage now for 3yrs going on a wonderful 4yrs. I was a single mother of two daughter. I had health problem with birth control, plus due to bad relationship choices.     My wife had her tubes tied when she was 24 after her last child. She is now 32 and I’m 33. We really would like to get it reversed. We live in Lebanon, Oregon. I would like to ask you for any information on a place closer than North Carolina that we would be able to visit and have the procedure done.

    The only place in Oregon that does them is OHSU, Oregon Health and Science University. They want at least $10,500 for the complete procedure. We need something that would cost more like $5000.

    It sounds like to me a lot of women over the past two decades have been convinced in to a procedure that has a lasting effect on them. Having your tubes cut, not being able to give birth, is like stopping your body from doing what it was made to do. Like everyone else, I too have had a tubal ligation. My reason was that I realized the man i was with was not at all a good father nor husband to be neither. So, i had the procedure done. Now, I regret having it. My new husband and I would so dearly like to have a child of our own. Could you suggest a facility near the Newport Oregon area that is of course affordable I could go to.

    I had my reversal 7-11-93 and i have looked into reversal surgery before but have had several dr.s tell me my post operative notes are not totally complete and they are not sure it can even be reversed. Mine were cut and clamped (not Burnt) and the problem the dr’s have told me is the notes do not give information as to where they were clamped. Be it at the end of the tubes or closer to my ovaries. I found a Christian site online several years ago that offers to help with tubal reversal costs but am having trouble finding it again. Can someone please help me either with this site or with an affordable option as to paying for this operartion. Another thing i need to know is, is there a way of possibly even finding out if this procedure can even be performed on me without having to pay a huge amount of money to have it done for nothing?

    I’m 31 and had my tubes tied after I had my daughter in 2000, I’m getting married next year and we both would love to have a child of our own. I was wondering about the price and if I can get them reversed. I was told that I was getting them tied, Burned, & cut, but then after the surgery they said they just put bands on them.     This must be so very difficult for most of you. I myself had a Tubal Ligation, and in the recent months thought of having just one more. I have also thought alot about the world we live in. Today I have made a decision not to persue a reversal after reading all of your stories. I based it on the fact that, alot of you have said you don’t have the money, if you don’t have it now what makes you think you will have it with another mouth to feed. I can not take from the 3 children i already have, love and adore, for my own personal gain or satisfaction. I can focus more on them and there needs now seeing your stories. I made this choice a little more than 2 years ago, I think it will be the lesser of 2 evils by standing by it. Babies are such a woderful gift, and It would make me very happy to have 1 more, however, my life doesn’t feel empty and I am happy. Good luck to all of you ladies on your quest.

    By the time I was 19 I was married and had two beautiful boys, even though I was on several contraceptives. As a result, I decided the best birth control at the time was sterilization. At 31 now, my husband and I would like to know more about having another child to complete our family. Our doctor suggested in vitro fertilization but I do’t want to end up with a multiple pregnancy.     I am a 33 year old mother of 2. I had my tubes tied in 1996. They used the pomeroy method. I divorced my childrens father 3 years ago. I am recently remarried.     I am 25 years old. At the age of 20 I got very sick, my then husband signed a consent form to have my tubes clamped while undergoing a few other surgeries, I no longer am with him and have moved on with my life, but there is something missing from my new life with my husband and I, a child.     Hello, It’s been almost 2 years since I got my tubes tied and I regret it everyday. I have 2 boys and my husband (after saying for years that he didn’t want anymore kids) said that we should have another baby I was at the doctor the same week trying to find out what we can do to have another baby. The cost is very expennsive. I heard that some insurance companies cover the reversal but I have not found one yet.     Look up Tubal Reconstruction. There is a place in North Carolina that said if you have 1 inch of good tube remaining, they can attach / implant it into your uterus. The cost is about 5 grand. Its worth looking into. There is also a place in Houston.

    Hi. I just wanted to tell Stephanie Silas how sorry I am to hear about her loss. I myself had my tubes tied six months after the birth of my son. I was pregnant once before, but lost it, I think that was my girl. The loss of that pregnancy scared me and I felt that I was lucky to have had such an easy time with the birth of our son. It took us a year to conceive, but I now am nearly desperate to have another beautiful baby. Our son is almost three and for the last year I have deeply regretted having the surgery. We are not able to afford the cost and I’m not sure that medicaid will cover it, but I am trying to have faith in God that if it to be then it will be. Good luck to all of you. I wish you the best.

    I understand perfectly well. I had my tubes tied in 1997 after my twins was born. I have 4 children from a previous marriage, ages(2Boys)17,16 and twin(Daughters)that are 12.     I had my tubal 11 years ago after the birth of my 2nd child, I also was pressured into by my then husband I’ve been with my husband now for 10 years…I found out 3 weeks ago that I was pregnant without a tubal reversal..went to several different doctors and got different opinions.. The first Dr. I went to said I must immediately go into surgery or I will die.. He said if I had a tubal then the baby has to be in my tubes… I didn’t want to abort this pregnancy so a week later I went to a second OB-Gyn and he re-assured me things would be fine either way.. He told me that it happens that a woman can become pregnant with a tubaligation.. He said it could be a normal pregnancy or it could result in an ectopic pregnancy or even a blighted ovum (which is what happened)on the 17th of March I had to go to the ER when I started bleeding, I bled for one (1) day and it stopped so I called my OB/Gyn and he told me since I’ve stopped bleeding I can follow up with him on the 24th so I went to him yesterday and he had done more blood work, vaginal sonogram and told me that it looks like I had lost the pregnancy, but he did tell me that I was still healthy and everything looked good, as far as my reproductive system.. I don’t have insurance and having a laproscopy would be quite expensive so here I am wondering if I’ll become pregnant again or what will happen…I don’t know if my tubes have come “undone” or what had happened,..and If they did come “undone” would I be able to have a normal pregnancy… I don’t ever want to go through this heart ache again of thinking I’m pregnant and then just like that it’s gone.
    If anyone knows of anyone who’s gone through this and ended up with a healthy pregnancy I would greatly appreciate to hear their story..

    I am 34 years old and had my tubes i believe tied and burned maybe cut im not completly sure in 2001 after my 2nd daughter. Also a few years later i had to have a thermal ablasion which i was told i would never have a period again. The ablasion did help slow my cycle down but i still have a very normal cycle. I had aske my doctor recently if it would ever be possible for me to carry another child he told me it was to risky.     I had my tubes tied 8 years ago and now, my new husband and I would soon like to have 1, if not 2 children but I don’t want to worry about birth control after conception. I have considered In Vitro but the success rates are so slim. Are there other alternatives besides the 2 procedures? Which would be the better, less costly choice?

    Well I had my tubes cut,tied & caterized in 2000 ive remarried and we decided to have more children so I found a resonable Dr.to perform the reversal in Shreveport La got my reversal done on Aug 11 2009 hopefully soon I will become pregnant

    I had my tubes clamped almost 15 years ago and my husband had a vasectomy 7 yrs ago. What is our best route for getting pregnant again. Both reversals? Invitro? Something else? Looking for some insight. I am 34 yrs old and hoping to have a procedure done as soon as possible. Thanks

    stephani if you only had your tubes clamped. you could go to a local ob-yn and get them unclamped.
    then you could get pregnant like 2 to 6 months after they get unclamped..
    i want to know what other surgeries did you get..on that day you ex husband signed the papers.

    Hi, had my tubes cut/burned 21 years ago after my son was born… am now remarried 8 years and we’d love to have one of our own. We are both in our early 40’s – yikes! Does anthem bc/bs or united health care cover any of the costs or is there a cheaper way to finance our dream? Do you know if Tricare covers any of the costs, I am with the Army National Guard. Or are there grants available to help us? Thank you!!

    I had a tubal ligation after my 3rd delivery. I am considering reversal not because I desire more children but because my health has fallen apart it seems. My cycles are horrible, I cant practically leave the house..the hot flashes are unbearable, my sides ache constantly. I believe this is all from my tubal. I am getting a physical and blood work done to rule out anything else.
    I know with a reversal there is a possiblity I could get pregnant I just can live this way each month.

    Hello,Im 36 and a mother of 3 teens.Had Tubaligation in 1997.Im at a time right now that my hubby and I are despertly wanting another child.We have had training to Foster&Adopt. I just feel that Id rather have a child that is from our blood and the kids would adjust better.Im willing to go further in the agency at a later time, but If im able to give birth again then why not go this route.Ive had 3 c-sections so im curious if im able to have another child.This child would have so much love from us and his/her siblings want this to happen also.In the past I was young and unstable and im able and willing now.I pray every night about this and I hope the procedure is at a reasonable price.Hoping for a Miracle.Can this Happen?

    I had a tubal ligation about 2.5 yrs ago after our last son was born. I did this based on information that my doctor at the time. He told us our son was healthy, and that “nothing ever happens to babies with two vessel cords”. At only 5 days old, I held our son as he passed away. A result of a two vessel cord. They never tested him to make sure everything was ok. At my six week check up, my doctor told me to go home, grieve & in six months I would never want another child again. My husband and I are now at a point where we are trying to move forward. My new OB/GYN is willing to do the surgery. But the problem is having all the fee up front. Total cost is approximately $7000. I am 38 now, and as each day passes, my chances go down. Chapel Hill won’t perform my surgery due to my weight. I am healthy otherwise, very rarely getting sick. But they won’t budge. Our only option is with my current doctor. Anyone know of any place that will finance?
