I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder 16 years ago. There is a common misconception with the stereotyping of a person dealing with this illness. Data reflects that the majority of people are on the depressive end of the continuim.
The symptoms vary with the individual. There are many people, including myself, who do not go on spending sprees, staying up for days, the euphoria, etc. It correlates with other diseases in it's intensity and symptoms.Research indicates that it is comorbid with ADHD. There are support groups, counseling and new medications, yoga, diet, and many other tools which help. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. I can share my hope, strength, and experience.
