Oreck ProShield™ Plus Air Purifier with Helios Shield™ just came out on 8/20/2009 and so far it is the best I have seen. My wife is sensitive to smells and I have allergies. I trashed my old Oreck air purifier and just picked up two of the new ones. I just got tired of paying for all the filters plus I get 30 days to try. Will post more when my month is up but so far I am sleeping great with it in our room and my wife has noticed that house smells have gone way down.

could someone help me out here. i got an oreck air purifier @ a garage sale with no instructions on how to clean the permanent filter with soap and water? i cannot figure out how to get to it for cleaning. please help

I agree with other posts concerning the Ionic Pro. Although ratings were good at the time I purchased the unit, after less than a year, and with continuous upkeep, the unit’s “clean” light came on and will not shut off. This renders the unit unusable, even after thorough cleaning. I checked several other comment pages, and many folks have had the same problem with no resolution. Don’t buy this air purifier!

I agree with other posts concerning the Ionic Pro. I checked on-line for ratings, and no problems were apparent, so I purchased one–DON’T. I cleaned the filter as directed, but after a little less than a year the “clean” light came on, and stayed on after I cleaned the filter; thus rendering the unit unusable. I am very disappointed, and have switched to the Oreck XL air purifier. So far, so good.

My husband and I have several Hunter air cleaners we purchased from HSN. They do a great job. The only drawback is the filters are costly. Anyone needing an absolutely certain solution, I would recommend the Hunter brand. If anyone knows of a model with a washable filter, let me know.

I was wondering if any one has tried the eco-quest air purifier? It is about the size of a shoe box and has no filters.

I purchased two Ionic Breeze Quadra Air Purifiers from Sharper Image.

The Sharper Image has gone bankrupt. Your friend is correct. I learned from a friend that they produce ozone. When I learned that, I called Sharper Image and they sent me ozone guards that clip on the front.

My problem now is that I destroyed the collection grid, a plastic part broke off from the bottom.

My husband is in the nursing home, we need to purchase an air cleaner, area is 12′ x 15′ I was told that pionair was the best, is it? Also is it safe? Thanks for your reply, sincerely, Darlean
